What is the Whippy browser extension?

Last updated: November 5, 2026

The Whippy browser extension lets you send messages from websites that display phone numbers while keeping conversations synced back to Whippy.

What it is used for

  • Send 1:1 messages from websites, CRMs, ATS platforms, internal tools, or other pages with phone numbers.

  • Collect visible phone numbers from a page or list to create a campaign audience.

  • Reduce tab switching by messaging from the page you are already viewing.

  • Keep sent messages and replies centralized in the Whippy inbox.

Before you start

  • Use a Chromium-based browser such as Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, or Vivaldi.

  • Install and enable the Whippy browser extension.

  • Log in to the correct Whippy organization.

Steps

  1. Open a website that displays a phone number.

  2. Select the Whippy icon next to the number.

  3. Open the Whippy messaging pane.

  4. Review the contact or phone number.

  5. Write and send a 1:1 message, or collect numbers for a campaign when working from a list.

  6. Check Whippy to confirm the conversation is synced.

Tips

  • Refresh the extension before collecting a new audience from a different page.

  • Scroll through lists fully before collecting numbers.

  • Use the Whippy web app for advanced campaign setup, contact imports, settings, templates, and reporting.

Troubleshooting

  • If the messaging pane does not open, confirm the extension is enabled.

  • If messages do not appear in Whippy, confirm your login and refresh the page.

  • If contact details are missing, the website may not be directly integrated with Whippy.
