How do I add a webhook endpoint in Whippy?
Last updated: November 5, 2026
Add a webhook endpoint when you want Whippy to send real-time event data to your system. Webhooks help external tools react automatically when selected events happen in Whippy.
Before you start
Prepare a public HTTPS endpoint that can receive POST requests.
Create or select the API key that should be used for webhook signing.
Decide which event categories your endpoint should receive.
Steps
Open Whippy.
Click the code icon in the top navigation bar to open the Developers page.
Select Webhooks from the left navigation.
Click Add Endpoint.
Enter a clear name for the webhook application.
Add an optional description.
Select the API key to use for webhook signing.
Click Create Application.
On the endpoint configuration page, enter your public HTTPS webhook URL.
Select the event categories the endpoint should receive.
Review the sample code if needed.
Click Save Endpoint.
Tips
Subscribe only to the events your integration needs.
Use descriptive endpoint names so teammates understand each webhook’s purpose.
Ensure your endpoint responds quickly and can handle retries.
Verify webhook signatures using the selected API key.
Troubleshooting
No requests arrive: Confirm the endpoint URL is public, HTTPS, and saved correctly.
No events are delivered: Check that the required event categories are selected.
Signature verification fails: Confirm your verification logic uses the API key selected for the webhook.
Unexpected payloads arrive: Reduce subscribed events to the categories you need.
