Last updated: November 5, 2026

Use Usage reports to review message and credit usage across your organization by date range, channel, user, and message type.

Before you start

  • Choose the date range you want to review.

  • Identify any channels you want to filter by.

  • Use this report when investigating messaging volume, SMS/MMS mix, credit usage, or usage spikes.

Steps

  1. Open Reports.

  2. Select Usage.

  3. Choose the date range you want to review.

  4. Use the channel filter to narrow the report to one or more channels if needed.

  5. Review the summary cards at the top of the report.

  6. Switch between Messaging Overview, SMS vs MMS, and Outbound vs Inbound to compare usage by message type and direction.

  7. Review Total Credits by Day to identify usage trends over time.

  8. Open Messages by User to compare usage by team member.

  9. Open Messages by Channel to compare usage by channel.

  10. Export chart or table data where available if you need to review usage outside Whippy.

Tips

  • Use Total Credits by Day to spot unusual spikes in messaging volume.

  • Use Messages by User to understand which team members are sending the most messages.

  • Use Messages by Channel to compare usage across phone numbers, inboxes, or messaging channels.

  • Compare SMS vs MMS when investigating higher credit usage.

Troubleshooting

  • If usage looks higher than expected, review SMS vs MMS and Messages by Channel.

  • If a user does not appear in Messages by User, expand the date range or clear channel filters.

  • If a channel does not appear, expand the date range or check a different channel.

  • If the chart shows no data, clear filters or choose a broader date range.
