How do I connect workflows to Whippy products and other apps?

Last updated: November 5, 2026

Connect Whippy workflows to Whippy products and other apps when an automation needs to coordinate data, communications, AI actions, or external systems.

Before you start

  • Design the business outcome before choosing apps.

  • Confirm the connected app or Whippy action is available in your organization.

  • Use test destinations and non-sensitive sample data while building.

  • Confirm the connected account can access the records, channels, pages, or objects the workflow needs.

Steps

  1. Open a workflow draft.

  2. Add a step and select Apps.

  3. Search for the product you want to use.

  4. Select the required action, search, or trigger.

  5. Click Connect if an account has not been authorized.

  6. Complete the external authorization flow.

  7. Return to the workflow builder.

  8. Select the connected account.

  9. Configure the app-specific fields.

  10. Insert variables from previous steps where needed.

  11. Test with a safe record or destination.

  12. Save the step.

Tips

  • Use native integrations when available.

  • Keep each step responsible for one operation.

  • Add clear filters before sending data or messages.

  • Confirm AI output before allowing it to drive high-impact actions.

  • Reconnect credentials when authorization expires or access changes.

  • Never place API keys in step names, descriptions, or logs.

Troubleshooting

  • If an app is not visible, review the app catalog and contact your Whippy administrator if access is expected.

  • If a connected action is unauthorized, reconnect the account and confirm permissions in the external app.

  • If a Slack channel is missing, add the connected Slack app to the channel and refresh options.

  • If an AI summary is incomplete, clean the source content and make the requested output explicit.

  • If an external record is not found, inspect the source variable and connected account permissions.
