How do I filter contacts and object records in Whippy?

Last updated: November 5, 2026

Use filters to narrow Contacts and object record tables by the fields, tags, lists, preferences, or related object data that matter to your task.

Before you start

  • Decide whether you need to filter people in All contacts or records in an object table.

  • Confirm the fields or object properties you want to filter by are populated.

  • Use broad filters first, then narrow the results.

Steps

  1. Open Contacts from the main sidebar.

  2. Choose All contacts to filter people, or open Objects to filter object records.

  3. Select Filter above the table.

  4. Add conditions manually, or use AI filter when available.

  5. Review the matching rows.

  6. Adjust columns when the table needs to show different fields.

  7. Export the view or save the filter as a segment when the result should be reused.

Tips

  • Start broad, then add conditions one at a time.

  • Use AI filter for a quick first draft, then review the generated logic.

  • Use contact segments for reusable contact audiences.

  • Use object record exports when the task is about operational records rather than people.

Troubleshooting

  • If the table returns no rows, remove one condition and confirm the field is populated.

  • If the wrong records appear, review each field, operator, and object property.

  • If a filter cannot be saved as a segment, confirm you are filtering from All contacts, because segments apply to contacts.

  • If a field is missing, review object setup, synced data, and user permissions.
