How do I use contact notes in Whippy?

Last updated: November 5, 2026

Add contact notes when teammates need internal context attached to a contact before messaging, calling, or updating that contact.

Before you start

  • Confirm you can view the contact.

  • Use contact notes for context that should follow the contact across conversations and channels.

  • Use conversation notes instead when the note only applies to one conversation.

View contact notes

  1. Open Contacts.

  2. Select All contacts.

  3. Search for or filter to the contact you need.

  4. Open the contact from the table.

  5. Stay on the Details tab in the contact panel.

  6. Scroll to Contact notes.

  7. Review existing notes, authors, and timestamps.

Add a contact note

  1. Open the contact panel for the contact.

  2. Go to the Details tab.

  3. Scroll to Contact notes.

  4. Type the note in the Add note field.

  5. Use the emoji picker if needed.

  6. Click Add.

Delete a contact note

  1. Open the contact panel for the contact.

  2. Go to Contact notes.

  3. Find the note you want to remove.

  4. Click the delete icon on the note.

  5. Confirm the note is no longer shown in the list.

Tips

  • Keep notes concise and factual so teammates can scan them quickly.

  • Do not store sensitive information unless your organization allows it.

  • Review contact permissions if a user can view contacts but cannot manage notes.

Troubleshooting

  • If Contact notes is not visible, reopen the contact and confirm the user has contact access.

  • If Add does not save a note, enter note text and try again.

  • If a note was deleted accidentally, add a new note with the needed context.

  • If a note appears in one conversation but not another, it may be a conversation note rather than a contact note.
