How do I manage contact tags in Whippy?

Use Tags settings to create, edit, and delete tags that users apply to contacts in Whippy.

Before you start

  • Confirm you have permission to manage tags.

  • Review existing tags before creating a new one to avoid duplicates.

  • Review existing segments, filters, workflows, or audiences before deleting a tag.

Steps

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Select Tags.

  3. Review the existing tags.

  4. Select Add tag to create a new tag.

  5. Enter the tag details and save.

  6. Use row actions to edit or delete an existing tag.

  7. Return to Contacts when you need to apply tags to contacts.

Tips

  • Use short, clear tag names that describe the contact status or grouping.

  • Avoid duplicate tags with similar meanings.

  • Rename a tag instead of deleting it when you are not sure where it is used.

  • Use bulk actions from Contacts when many contacts need the same tag update.

Troubleshooting

  • If a tag does not appear when editing contacts, open Settings > Tags and confirm the tag exists.

  • If deleting a tag would affect existing audiences, review usage before deleting and consider renaming instead.

  • If tag names are inconsistent, agree on a naming convention and consolidate duplicates.
