How do I manage usage and billing in Whippy?
Last updated: November 5, 2026
Use the Usage and Billing workflow to check current usage, review detailed usage reports, configure usage notifications, and understand subscription or overage charges.
Before you start
You may need admin or billing permissions to view usage and billing settings.
Use Settings > Usage for current-month usage and additional usage charges.
Use Reports > Usage for detailed reporting over custom date ranges.
Use Settings > Billing for subscription and invoice history.
Steps
Open Settings > Usage to check current messaging credit consumption for the calendar month.
Review the usage progress bar and any link to additional usage charges beyond your included plan credits.
Open the full Usage report from the Usage page or go to Reports > Usage.
Select a date range using quick presets or a custom start and end date.
Review usage by messaging overview, SMS versus MMS, and outbound versus inbound.
Go to Settings > Notifications and scroll to Usage to configure usage alerts.
Choose the notification channels you want to use for billing or usage alerts.
Open Settings > Billing to review your active plan and invoices.
Review invoice line items for regular subscription charges or additional usage costs.
Tips
Check usage before sending high-volume campaigns.
Use Reports > Usage when you need historical or custom date-range analysis.
Enable usage notifications for admins or billing owners who need to react to usage changes.
Review invoices when you need to distinguish subscription charges from additional usage costs.
Troubleshooting
If you cannot access Billing, ask an organization admin to review your permissions.
If usage looks high, review Reports > Usage by SMS/MMS, direction, user, and channel.
If usage alerts are not received, review Settings > Notifications > Usage.
If invoice charges are unclear, compare invoice line items with usage and additional usage charges.
