How do I set SMS template permissions?

Last updated: November 5, 2026

Set SMS template permissions to control who can view and use a template in Whippy.

Before you start

  • Open a conversation where you can access templates.

  • Decide whether the template should be personal, location-specific, or organization-wide.

Steps

  1. Open the Omnichannel Inbox.

  2. Open any conversation.

  3. Select Templates.

  4. Select Add Template or edit an existing template.

  5. Enter or review the template name and SMS message content.

  6. Choose the permission level:

    • User: Only you can view and use the template.

    • Location: Users from a specific location can access it.

    • Organization: All users in the organization can view and use it.

  7. Select Save Template.

Tips

  • Use User-level templates for personal or one-off messages.

  • Use Location-level templates for region- or team-specific messages.

  • Use Organization-level templates for standard company-wide replies.

  • Review permissions regularly so templates stay relevant and easy to find.

Troubleshooting

  • If a teammate cannot see a template, check whether the permission is set to User.

  • If a template is missing, confirm it was saved.

  • If the wrong users can access a template, edit the template and update its permission.
