How do I update a channel address?

Update a channel address when the physical business location tied to a channel changes or needs correction. Whippy uses the business address and Google Place ID in channel settings.

Before you start

  • Make sure you have permission to edit organization channel settings.

  • Have the correct business address ready.

  • Choose the address from Google’s suggestions so the Google Place ID can populate correctly.

Steps

  1. Go to Organization Settings.

  2. Open Channels.

  3. Find the channel you want to update.

  4. Click the three-dot actions menu.

  5. Select Edit channel.

  6. Open the Overview tab.

  7. Click into the Business address field.

  8. Start typing the new address.

  9. Select the correct Google Maps suggestion from the dropdown.

  10. Confirm that the Google Place ID populates.

  11. Click Update channel details to save the change.

Tips

  • Always select a Google Maps suggestion instead of typing a freeform address.

  • If the address does not appear, try searching by street number, postcode, or building name.

  • If multiple channels use the same location, update each channel individually.

  • Review related settings, such as business hours, after changing a location.

Troubleshooting

  • You cannot save changes: Select an address from Google suggestions so the Google Place ID is populated.

  • The address does not appear: Try a more specific address format.

  • The update does not show in the channel list: Return to the Overview tab and save again.
