How do I set a preferred channel?

Set a preferred channel to choose the default SMS sending channel Whippy uses when you compose messages.

Before you start

  • Confirm the channel you want to use is available to your account.

  • Confirm you have permission to update your preferences.

Steps

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Select Preferences.

  3. Find Preferred Channel.

  4. Select the phone number or agent you want to use by default for SMS.

  5. Select Save Changes.

Tips

  • Choose the channel contacts are most likely to recognize.

  • Use different channels for different communication types if your team supports that workflow.

  • You can still manually change the sending channel when composing a message.

Troubleshooting

  • If Preferred Channel is missing, ask an admin to review your permissions.

  • If a message sends from the wrong channel, check the channel selected in the composer before sending.

  • If changes do not save, refresh the page and try again.
