How do I add or buy domains in Whippy?

Use Domains settings to buy or connect domains for link tracking and email setup in Whippy.

Before you start

  • Decide whether you need a domain for Links, Emails, or both.

  • Confirm you can update DNS records for domains you connect.

  • Use Settings > Accounts instead if you need to manage SIP domains for voice infrastructure.

Steps

  1. Open Settings > Domains.

  2. Click Add domain if you want to connect an existing domain.

  3. Click Buy domain if you want to search for and buy a new domain.

  4. Choose whether the domain should be used for Links, Emails, or both where the flow asks.

  5. Open a domain to review Domain Setup.

  6. Review Links Setup if the domain is used for links.

  7. Review Email Setup if the domain is used for email.

  8. Add or update the required DNS records with your DNS provider.

  9. Wait for DNS changes to propagate and verify the setup.

Tips

  • Use Settings > Domains for link and email domain setup.

  • Use Settings > Accounts for SIP domains tied to provider account voice infrastructure.

  • Choose Links or Emails carefully because each setup can require different DNS records.

  • Wait for DNS propagation before assuming verification failed.

Troubleshooting

  • If domain setup is still pending, review the required DNS records and wait for propagation.

  • If Buy domain is disabled, enter a valid domain and select the required setup option.

  • If domain types are confusing, remember that link and email domains live in Settings > Domains, while SIP domains live under Settings > Accounts.
