How do I configure Calls settings in Whippy?
Last updated: November 5, 2026
Configure Calls settings to manage organization-wide call handling, voicemail, recording, and transcription behavior.
Before you start
Confirm you have permission to manage organization settings.
Review any legal or compliance requirements before enabling call recording.
Use channel-level Call Flow settings when a specific phone channel needs different routing behavior.
Steps
Open Settings from the sidebar.
Select Calls.
Use Call Handling to set the incoming call ring timeout.
Turn conference calling on or off depending on whether users should be able to use conference calls.
Use Voicemail settings to decide whether missed calls should go to voicemail.
Turn voicemail transcription on or off.
Update the voicemail greeting when callers should hear a specific message.
Use Recording and Transcription to decide whether calls should be recorded.
Choose which calls to record when recording is enabled.
Turn call transcription on or off.
Tips
Set ring timeout long enough for users to answer but short enough that callers are not waiting too long.
Keep voicemail greetings short, clear, and current.
Use transcription when users need searchable call records.
Review channel-level call flows separately for channel-specific routing changes.
Troubleshooting
If calls are marked missed too quickly, increase the incoming call ring timeout.
If missed calls do not go to voicemail, enable voicemail for missed calls and confirm the greeting is set.
If voicemail or call transcripts are missing, enable the relevant transcription setting.
If calls are not recorded, enable call recording and review which calls are included.
