How do I set up voicemail for Whippy Business Phone?
Last updated: November 5, 2026
Set up voicemail in a Whippy Business Phone channel’s Call Flow so callers can leave a message when no one answers, after business hours, or when routing sends them to voicemail.
Before you start
Confirm you have permission to edit the Business Phone channel.
Decide whether voicemail should apply during business hours, after hours, or both.
Prepare a short voicemail greeting.
Steps
Go to Channels under Organization Settings.
Select the Whippy Business Phone channel.
Open the channel editor.
Select the Call Flow tab.
Enable Override organization settings if the channel needs its own voicemail setup.
Review the incoming call ring timeout.
Choose the IVR route type:
Use Direct Connection for a simple route with voicemail as the fallback.
Use Guided Call Flow when voicemail should apply conditionally, such as after hours.
Configure voicemail in the relevant route or fallback.
Add a voicemail greeting as text-to-speech or a recording.
Stage the section changes.
Save the channel changes.
Tips
Keep voicemail greetings short and clear.
Use Guided Call Flow when voicemail behavior differs between business hours and after hours.
Test voicemail by calling the channel and letting the call time out.
Review voicemail messages regularly to ensure timely follow-up.
Troubleshooting
If voicemail does not trigger, adjust ring timeout or confirm voicemail is configured as a fallback.
If the greeting does not play, add or re-stage the greeting.
If after-hours voicemail does not work, confirm after-hours behavior is enabled.
If calls forward instead of reaching voicemail, review the route order.
