How do I configure Call Flow settings for Whippy Business Phone?
Last updated: November 5, 2026
Use Call Flow settings to control how inbound calls route, what callers hear, and what happens when no one answers on a Whippy Business Phone channel.
Before you start
Confirm you have permission to edit the Business Phone channel.
Decide whether inbound calls should use a guided IVR menu or a direct connection.
Configure business hours first if you want after-hours call handling.
Steps
Go to Channels under Organization Settings.
Find your Business Phone channel.
Open the channel actions menu and select Edit Channel.
Open the Call Flow tab.
Configure the call flow sections you need, such as opening greeting, IVR routes, direct connection, default fallback, closing greeting, and after-hours handling.
Click Stage Changes in each section you edit.
Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.
Tips
Use Guided Call Flow when callers need menu options such as Sales, Support, voicemail, or call-to-text.
Use Direct Connection when all inbound calls should route to one destination.
Set a ring timeout that matches how quickly your team can realistically answer.
Always configure a default fallback.
Stage changes immediately after editing each Call Flow section.
Troubleshooting
If greeting or menu changes did not apply, return to that section, click Stage Changes, and then Save Changes.
If Call Flow changes still are not active, scroll to the bottom and click Save Changes.
If after-hours rules do not run, configure Business Hours and enable after-hours handling.
If calls route to the wrong place, edit the IVR action or target, then stage and save the change.
