How do I transfer a call on Whippy Business Phone?
Last updated: November 5, 2026
Transfer an active Whippy Business Phone call to another user, queue, extension, or phone number without disconnecting the caller.
Before you start
Confirm the call is active and fully connected.
Know whether you want a warm transfer or a cold transfer.
Confirm the destination user, queue, extension, or external phone number is available.
Steps
Answer or place a call on a Whippy Business Phone channel.
On the active call panel, open the three-dots menu.
Click Transfer call.
Choose Warm transfer or Cold transfer.
Select a destination:
Internal extension.
User.
Queue.
External phone number.
Confirm the transfer.
If using a warm transfer, speak with the recipient, then complete the handoff.
Tips
Use warm transfers when the recipient needs context before taking the call.
Use cold transfers for queues, shared workflows, or general routing.
Park calls when you need another user to retrieve the call later instead of transferring immediately.
Document queue names and extensions so your team can transfer calls quickly.
Regularly test transfers, queues, and extensions.
Troubleshooting
If the transfer option is not visible, wait until the call is fully connected.
If transfer fails, verify the number, user, queue, or extension exists and is active.
If the caller is dropped, retry the transfer or use a different destination.
If the call seems to disappear, return to the active call panel.
If a parked call is not found, check all queues associated with the channel.
