How do I change Enter to send in Whippy?

Use the Enter to send preference to choose whether pressing Enter sends a message or creates a new line in the message editor.

Before you start

  • Decide whether you prefer fast chat-style sending or easier multi-line drafting.

  • Use Shift + Enter when Enter to send is enabled and you need a line break.

Steps

  1. Open Settings from the sidebar.

  2. Select Preferences.

  3. Find Enter to send under inbox settings.

  4. Turn Enter to send on if pressing Enter should send the message.

  5. Turn Enter to send off if pressing Enter should create a new line.

  6. Return to the inbox.

  7. Test the message editor behavior with a draft.

Tips

  • Turn Enter to send on for short chat-style replies.

  • Turn Enter to send off if you often write multi-line messages.

  • Use Shift + Enter for a line break when Enter to send is enabled.

  • Pair this setting with your preferred channel so new messages start from the right channel.

Troubleshooting

  • If a message sends before it is ready, turn Enter to send off in Settings > Preferences.
