How do I manage users, teams, and roles in Whippy?
Last updated: November 5, 2026
Use Users and Teams settings to manage workspace members, teams, and roles from one Settings area.
Before you start
Confirm you have permission to manage users, teams, or roles.
Review roles before adding many users so permission patterns stay consistent.
Use channel-specific settings when a user needs access to a specific channel.
Steps
Open Settings > Users and teams.
Select Users to review members, search the list, add users, and manage user-level assignments.
Select Teams to review team names, member counts, and last updated dates.
Create or open a team when you need to manage grouped users.
Select Roles to review default roles or create a custom role.
Open a user, team, or role before making detailed changes.
Review related channel user settings if a person needs access to a specific channel.
Tips
Start with roles before adding many users so permissions are consistent.
Use teams for operational grouping, not just reporting labels.
Keep team names practical and recognizable to support routing and assignment workflows.
Review channel access after adding or changing a user’s role.
Troubleshooting
If a user cannot access a feature, check the user’s role and any channel-specific users settings.
If a team is missing from a workflow, confirm the team exists and has the right members.
If roles are not editable, create a custom role if you need a tailored permission set or ask an admin to review your access.
