How do I manage SIP domains and credential lists in Whippy?

Use SIP Domains, Credential Lists, and Credential Attachments in a provider account to manage SIP authentication for devices and SIP users.

Before you start

  • Confirm you have permission to manage provider account settings.

  • Open the correct provider account before creating SIP resources.

  • Plan credential changes carefully because connected phones and SIP users may be affected.

Steps

  1. Open Settings > Accounts.

  2. Open the provider account you want to manage.

  3. Select Domains to review or create SIP domains.

  4. Select Credential Lists to review or create credential lists.

  5. Select Credential Attachments to link SIP domains to credential lists.

  6. Confirm the domain and credential list relationship is correct before adding SIP users.

  7. Test any SIP user, phone, or extension that depends on the updated setup.

Tips

  • SIP domains in provider accounts are different from Settings > Domains for link or email domains.

  • Create the SIP domain and credential list before creating the credential attachment.

  • Use clear credential list names.

  • Coordinate credential changes with phone and extension testing.

Troubleshooting

  • If no SIP domains exist, create one from the Domains tab.

  • If you cannot create a credential attachment, confirm both the SIP domain and credential list exist.

  • If SIP users cannot connect, review Credential Attachments and verify the SIP user’s credential list.
