How do I create a sequence in Whippy?
Last updated: November 5, 2026
Create a sequence when you want Whippy to automate multi-step communication across channels with controlled timing, rules, and conditions.
Before you start
Decide whether the sequence should be sequential or branched.
Prepare the channels, messages, timing, and response rules you need.
Use templates when you want to start from a reusable blueprint.
Steps
Go to Sequences in the left navigation.
Select Create Sequence.
Choose Create sequence from scratch or browse templates.
Enter the sequence title and optional description.
Select the sequence type: sequential or branched.
Choose the access level.
Configure global settings, including response behavior, re-entry rules, frequency caps, quiet hours, business hours, and link tracking.
Save the sequence to open the editor.
In the Steps tab, select Add Step.
Choose the step type, such as SMS, email, WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, or Voice AI.
Enter step details and schedule timing.
Add additional steps as needed.
If using a branched sequence, review the Flow tab to understand routing paths.
Turn the sequence on when it is ready.
Tips
Use sequential sequences for simple drip flows.
Use branched sequences for conditional paths.
Add response-based exits when any reply should stop messaging.
Configure quiet hours and weekend rules before using production sequences.
Use descriptive sequence and step titles.
Troubleshooting
If you cannot create a sequence, add required fields such as title and sequence type.
If the sequence behaves unexpectedly, review response rules, re-entry rules, and frequency caps.
If steps do not send, check quiet hours, weekends, business-hour rules, and contact timezone.
If branches do not trigger, review trigger conditions and branching logic.
