How do I use version history for AI agents?

Last updated: November 5, 2026

AI agent version history helps you understand which saved configuration was used and how agent behavior changed over time. Use version history to review edits, compare behavior, and troubleshoot unexpected changes.

Before you start

  • Open the AI agent you want to review.

  • Know roughly when the behavior changed or which call or conversation you are investigating.

Steps

  1. Open the AI agent.

  2. Go to the agent editor or settings area.

  3. Open Version history.

  4. Review the saved versions in chronological order.

  5. Select a version to inspect the configuration saved at that point.

  6. Compare the version timing with calls, messages, or test results.

  7. If needed, restore or recreate settings from the correct version.

  8. Save and preview the agent after making changes.

Tips

  • Check version history when a call behaved differently than expected.

  • Compare the call’s agent version with recent edits before troubleshooting.

  • Use clear change notes or naming conventions where available.

  • Preview the agent after restoring or changing configuration.

Troubleshooting

  • The current behavior does not match an older call: The call may have used a previous agent version.

  • You cannot find a recent change: Check when the agent was last saved and whether another user edited it.

  • Restored settings still behave incorrectly: Retest instructions, tools, knowledge bases, and voice settings together.
