How do I remove or deactivate a user in Whippy?
Last updated: November 5, 2026
When someone leaves your team, remove their Whippy access so they can no longer log in or send messages on behalf of your organization.
Before you start
Decide what should happen to the person's conversations. You can have them reassigned to another teammate or left unassigned.
Note the person's full name and the email they use to log in to Whippy.
If your organization has more than one Whippy account or location, note which one they should be removed from.
Steps
Ask an admin on your team to open Settings > Users and teams and select Users to review the person's account.
If you would like our team to handle it, contact Whippy support from the chat button and include:
The user's name and login email
The account or location they should be removed from
Whether their conversations should be reassigned (and to whom) or left unassigned
Our team confirms once the user has been removed.
Tips
Remove access on the person's last day so conversations do not go unanswered.
Reassign open conversations to a teammate so candidates and clients still get a reply.
Review channel access afterward to make sure the right people can see each number.
Reactivating a user
If a former user returns, contact support with their name, login email, and the account they need access to, and we can restore their access.
Troubleshooting
The person can still log in: Confirm they were removed from the correct account or location, then contact support.
Conversations are missing an owner: Use conversation assignment to give them to an active teammate.
